With the 5010 implementation, the billing provider address on the claim must be a physical address. It cannot be a PO Box or a lock box. Physicians who want to have their payments sent to different address must use the pay-to address fields.
The billing provider must be a provider of health care services and cannot be a billing service or clearinghouse.
