Countdown to ICD-10...

ICD-10-CM TRANSITION – WHAT ICD-10-CM STANDS FOR

As of November 1, 2011, there are 700 days until ICD-10-CM replaces ICD-9-CM code sets.

ICD-10-CM stands for the “International Classification of Diseases, 10th Revision, Clinical Modification” and is the medical classification system that will be used in the United States beginning with dates of service and inpatient claims with dates of discharge on or after October 1, 2013 for the collection of information regarding disease and injury. ICD-10-CM is entirely compatible with the World Health Organization’s Manual for ICD-10.
