Countdown to ICD-10...

ICD-10-CM TRANSITION – AFFECTING EVERYONE COVERED BY HIPAA

As of October 1, 2011, there are 731 days until ICD-10-CM replaces ICD-9-CM code sets.  The transition date is October 1, 2013.

ICD-10-CM will affect diagnosis and inpatient procedure coding for everyone covered by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Everyone covered by HIPAA who transmits electronic claims must also switch to Version 5010 transactions standards. This change will not affect CPT coding for outpatient/office procedures.

PRC Medical/Streamline MD is prepared to comply with Version 5010 and ICD-10 transitions.
